Arthion’s Travels – Entry # 17624

They surrounded us and yelled for us to surrender before them. I never particular cared for kobolds. I spoke in their tongue and told them if they leave we would spare their lives. That seemed to amused them. Philip of Tarsis wanted me to translate his message. Try as I might it just did not sound very intimidating and the kobolds seemed even more amused.

Without warning the kobold archers fired upon me. With such speed Philip deflected the arrows. I return fire upon the kobolds but I miss. Philip charges the nearest kobold and slew it effortlessly.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Joynthyn tumbling out of the way of a spell from a kobold caster. Try as I might I am only able to avoid part of the destructive blast. Greytome took the full brunt of the blast. Tid of Urst rushes to our aid and divine healing flows through our bodies quickly erasing the fresh wounds.

Both Greytome and I attack the kobold caster, I miss while Gretyome succeeds.

I see Jonythyn again out of the corner of my eye being surrounded by kobolds and a great wolf. I rush to his aid only to have my bones chilled as the wolf unleashed a frost breath attack. Biting back the pain of chilled fingers I fire an arrow and down a kobold, while dodging multiple arrows directed at me.

I had enough I cried out to Mother and Father and transformed into a mighty winter bear. Spooking a kobold I completely mauled the tiny creature.

Greytome destructive magic obliterated the caster, Jonythyn’s flury of blows dispatched the wolf.  Tid defeated a sneaker kobold, while Philip kills the archer. I raised up on my hind legs and roared causing the final archer to drop his bow and run away.

We continued on to the tower and viewed the symbol on the ground. Everyone seem dumbfounded about what it meant, it came easy for me thanks to Mother and Father’s wisdom. Concentrating I was able to open the tower.

We all entered into the first level of the tower and then decided to split up. Greytome looked at me and asked me to transform back into my elven form, I ignored him.

I start sniffing and begin to detect scents, a whiff of snakes filled my nostrils. I inhale deeplyu and focus on the concentration of the scent and was able to pinpoint the general area. I went to area and roared mightily.  Jonythyn came to me while the others looked but did not move. I tried to tell him there was a scent but all I could do was roar in this form.

Then I saw her and then heard her. I rush pass the party and blocked the entrance to ensure she could not escape. I heard fable tales of medusa, but never did I hear of a ice medusa.

Both Philip and Jonythn rushed in to the room to battle her. I stayed in the doorway with my massive size making sure that she could not escape. Tid and Greytome peppered her body with both divine and arcane spells.

The battle was over shortly and a great threat had been dealt with. I took this time to shift out of my bear form and examine the medusa snakes. I am very interested in the venom of her snakes. I collect a sample for future studies.
