This months adventure hook is Torgos “the Blind One”

I am Karadex of the Skaresk’ Rhipkardoesh Dragonborn clan. In common it’s translation is sky ripper. This is the beginning of my adventure

My clan has been at war with Torgos “the Blind one”, a demon from the abyssal plane for many years. A foolish young dragonborn wizard by the name of Ghordishk thought he could contain a demon if summoned him. He found the name in an ancient book. It was believed that the book was written at the dawn of time by the great Bahamut himself. His plan was to trap him in a small obsidian necklace of his own design. This way he could access demons knowledge by calling out the magic rune of binding and be safe from its wrath.

Ghordisk made all the necessary preparations. He created a circle of binding on the floor and a matching set of runes upon the necklace he had crafted to hold the creature. He had found the summoning ritual and had practiced for weeks. He was ready. He took a deep breath, steadied himself, and then began the incantation.

The demon appeared in the circle. It roared out in anger so loud, it shook the room. It slammed its fists against the circle’s magic. The constant barrage of attacks weighed upon the will of the young wizard. He had held his ground. He had held the circle. It had held the demon.

“You will yield demon” he called out, I command it”

He forced his will to lunge out and fortify the magic of the circle even further. The demon continued to thrash about still trying to free itself. He began the second incantation of binding. This one was attuned to the necklace. The demon felt the pull of the magic. It was forcing him into the necklace held by wizard. His attacks slowed. He felt a calming soothing magic come over him. It was inviting him into his new home. Although the magic was weak, he followed the pathway into the necklace.

The demon knew the binding rune was crude and easily broken. He bided his time over a few months. He worked on gaining the trust of the young Dragonborn. When the time had come to escape, he tricked the naive dragonborn into spilling a few drops of blood on the engraved runes while foolishly evoking a disenchant incantation. This opened the way to enter the mortal realm. He possessed the dragon born using the accursed item he helped the wizard perfect.

The first action he did was fortify himself in Ghordishk’s tower. The second was to blast away at the barracks with powerful magics. It consumed it in a deadly pit of fire it reduced it to rubble and ash. He killed many in that attack. My clan took to arms against the demon. It was a gruesome fight. The demon summoned his minions from the plane of hell to attack us as my clan charged. He had them readied for attack when the time was right.

The leader of my clan Khiris the fierce lead the charge against the oncoming horde. His sword cut a pathway through to the demon himself. The demon cast spells at him through the possessed Dragonborn. Khiris weathered through the magic onslaught and was able to rip the demon from the possessed Dragonborn in the fight. Once the demon had showed his true form, he earned a new name among all Dragonborn that day. He was called “the blind one” after Khiris the fierce tore his eyes out with his sword Ohr’agozoth “the demon splitter” in the vicious battle between them.

We had won the battle that day and fought back the horde at the cost of Khiris’ life. The Demon retreated back into the plane of hell to lick his wounds. He has come back to wage war against our clan to rid the world of our line and that of the sword he fears.

I am a direct descendant of Khiris the fierce. He was my great great grandfather. The day of his death, my grandfather inherited the clan and the sword. He too had also beaten back the demon through his life till the time that my father inherited the clan and sword from him. Now my father Khiris hunts the demon with a select few of brave well trained warriors. He still wields the same blade of our clan that felled the demon. It’s my birth rite and one day I too will wield it.
